MY VIEW ON THERAPY

As a fellow New Yorker who understands the challenges of balancing personal and professional commitments, I believe that therapy can be the missing link to achieving happiness and future success. Together, we will work to discover how you can live the life that you want and cultivate the best version of yourself.

I am a Holistic Psychologist who is passionate about making science, wellness, and psychology accessible to everyone. As a trained psychologist, I provide integrative, strengths-based psychotherapy that is grounded in scientifically-backed, evidence-based methods.

Through our work together, you will unlock your confidence, gain a deeper understanding of yourself, and develop coping skills that you can use for the rest of your life. By looking within, you can navigate your life and make decisions that align with your values and goals.

MY STYLE

I’ve worked with creatives, professionals, CEOs, college students, and entrepreneurs. I work best with people who take an active role in their own growth and fulfillment. I am a caring, curious, warm, and interactive therapist who is highly motivated to help you transform your life and meet your needs. I believe that everyone is capable of thriving, and I have an inherent ability to see the good in everyone. With me, you'll strike a balance between serious work and moments of laughter, and you'll start to notice changes in your mood from our very first session.

When I'm not in the office, I facilitate meditation and mindfulness workshops in schools, clinics, and the community. On nice days, you can find me at various parks throughout Manhattan, enjoying the natural beauty, reading a good book, or petting other people's dogs.

MY PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

I have worked in urban and suburban public and private schools, community mental health clinics, and outpatient clinics, providing therapeutic services to individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. With years of experience, I've honed my expertise in areas such as anxiety and stress reduction, relational concerns (including family, romantic, peer, and work relationships), college transitions, career/executive coaching, low self-esteem, and mood disorders.

My work draws upon mindfulness, positive psychology, neuroscience, nutrition, integrative medicine, contemplative practices, and other forms of holistic health. I specialize in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT), and I have completed Level 1 and 2 Gottman training.

I see clients of all ages, from young children through adults, as well as families, couples, groups, teams, and communities. I personalize my treatment approach to meet the unique needs of each client, and my goal is to help others navigate challenges, heal from life's stressors, and most importantly, thrive in their lives.

MY VIEW ON THERAPY

I believe that the greatest reward as a mental health counselor is helping clients reconnect with the happiness and strength that already lives within them. Everyone deserves an opportunity to build inner strength and learn how to cope with the twists and turns of life. And through therapy, we can do just that. I strive to create an atmosphere of warmth and non-judgment where clients can explore their goals and values, and we can collaboratively work towards aligning their lives with those values. Together, my client and I will freely explore issues that may have negatively impacted the way they live their lives.

MY STYLE

As an advanced clinical resident, I work with adults, teens, couples, and families to treat Anxiety, Depression, life transition difficulties, relationship issues, and communication difficulties. I use a combination of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and a holistic approach in my practice. With the use of mindfulness approaches and positive psychology techniques, I assist my clients in recognizing their strengths, improving their emotional regulation skills, and breaking down what may be standing in between them and living a happier, more fulfilling life.

I am here to create a space where I can provide my client with the needed support and where clients can be honest, open, and kind to themselves. I believe that everyone can move towards growth, healing, and self-love. My priority is to provide my clients with the tools to overcome hardships while empowering them to reach their potential.

MY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

I received a Bachelor’s of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology at George Washington University and am currently pursuing a Master’s of Arts (M.A.) in Mental Health and Wellness Counseling at New York University. I work with individuals of ages ranging from pre-kindergarten to adulthood. I have assisted individuals who live with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety, and Depression. Through my work as a Helpline Intern at National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), I learned the importance of lending a sympathetic ear to those who need someone to listen to them. This experience led me to pursue a career in the mental health field, where I continue to be a kind, engaged listener to all voices.
